Feel better soon my Dear. My husband and sister are both fighting some sort of flu bug. Hubby may have had a touch of pneumonia. We did not go to church at all last week and I pray that we will be going tomorrow. He has been using his oxygen a lot more than usual lately. Has me a little concerned.

Mamag, carol, trynfindit, and nlb thank you for your good wishes and prayers. I'm feeling a bit better right now. Hopefully I'll be good enough to go to church tomorrow.
Mamag, get your husband tested right away. You don't get over a touch of pneumonia withoout help.
Carol, is your husband okay now? What was wrong?

Aww wishing you're on a speedy recovery. I'm not feeling well as well. Have to go to the doctor this Tues. I understand perfectly why he's using his oxygen more. Pneumonia can cause difficulty breathing. Your chest will hurt as well. Years ago I had bronchitis - this whole town had it and my chest hurt.

This new kind of pneumonia is different from the kind I had as a kid. I was in grammar school when I woke up around 11 at night and suddenly couldn't breathe. I would try but it was like my lungs wouldn't inflate. The doctor made a house call and gave a shot of penicillin. Without that I'd have died overnight. I got the walking kind in my 40's. You just think it's a bad cough but it's worse than that.

I got pneumonia in 1978; I don't know what 'type' it was but I couldn't breathe past tiny shallow "sips" of air, I was freezing and got under my electric blanket and every other blanker I could find in the house plus had a pair of sweats and socks on and I was still freezing, and it felt like someone had buried an ice pick in my back. I called my mom and she came and took me to our doctor who did x-rays and gave me some kind of medicine. I remember my mom being there but don't even remember anything about the doctor's office except his saying something to the effect that it was "really bad."

I had a situation as a kid that was bad. I was about 10 or 12 and woke up with the room spinning. I was dizzy and was violently ill. My mom tried everything to get to relieve the fever and nausea. She contacted the doctor and she was instructed to bring me into his office. She claims I had enchelphitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain). Ate clear liquids for 4 days. I was almost hospitalized.

Carol, you are very lucky to have survived to be healthy. One of my husband's sisters died of ot and a brother became severely retarded--couldn't learn to talk. A brother-in-law got it from a mosquito bite and he was a strapping farmer who became an invalid.
Praise God you were spared.

He has been diagnoised with diverticulitis twice. Both times severe pain in the stomach. I went out to the nurses station a few times to attempt to get him some pain relief. He was given a presciption of antioboitics and a follow up with his doctor. Don't think he believed what the ER doctor stated. I'm getting migraines almost daily - ugh!

Maybe the migraines have been brought on by the bug you caught--sinus congestion and all that.
Hope the hubby has kept up with the antibiotics until he finishes them.

Actually I was told that the migraines could have been brought on by a stomach med I was taking. Many of us here have allergies.

Come to think of it I remember being somewhat headachy and I also got some pains in my head but I have been using sound blockibg earphones when my husband and I watch TV and they are tight. I thought they caused the pains.

Looks so pretty with the two colours and so cool. We have just had a terrible storm and I don't want to stay on here for long, so short and sweet tonight.

God bless all of you. Hugs.

I am smitten with that one mitten. The other is probably with all the socks that disappear in dryer.
