And the great advantage of a USA puzzle over other maps is that the boundaries don't change every week.

I think I had a couple of jigsaw puzzles of the United States when I was growing up - one was a standard type jigsaw and the other was where each state had to be placed in the proper place on the map.

My parents bought me a US puzzle when we were moving around the country during WWII when my Dad was in the Navy. I learned the states that way. It was better than some of the US puzzles now as each state was a separate piece so I learned the configuration of the states. I still look for one like it for children in our family.
Nice memory.

I have a map of the USA and the world on the walls. Really helps when you need to find out where a country is after you hear about them on the news. Here is a good memory test from 5th grade. How many state capitals can you remember?

When I was in Grades 1-4 we lived in several places in the US while my father was in the Navy (WWII). My parents bought a US jigsaw puzzle for me and I learned so much. I still love maps and jigsaw puzzles! --- and travel!
