Did a little embroidery as a kid, but nothing this intricate. How pretty this is going to be!

This puzzle reminds of my grandmother. She did beautiful needlework! I would like to, too! I would like to do some cross stitching; but I don't seem to have the time for it!

Beautiful drawn thread work--I never had the patience to embroider. As a friend of mine remarked about knitting, you don't need get-up-and-go to do it, but rather "sit down and stay! "

Good morning all you puzzlers, it is 3:45am central Oregon time. That was a challenging puzzle. I used to embroider quite a bit, but my eyes have gotten worse. Sure miss doing it. everyone have a good day and be safe.

Hi darambo, just another early morning lol. I don't know how you keep going with your sleep patterns. I find lavender oil helps me a lot. Hugs.

Hi Aussie, good morning hope you are well. It's 2:30am and I'm awake as usual, don't know how I keep going either. Tried lavender oil, my niece in California uses oils[ for all kinds of things ] and she had me try it when I was down there. Tried to send you a birthday card online but found I didn't have your email address, sounded like you had a wonderful day. I'm glad for that, you deserve it. You are a wonderful and caring person. Take care and be safe.

Darambo have you tried eating a couple of kiwifruit at bedtime? They don't make me feel sleepy but the quality of my sleep is better and I wake up rested. I also take a melatonin tablet at bedtime.

Loved doing embroidery as a teenager, everything from simple tea towels to huck weaving (also called Swedish embroidery), Italian cutwork and needlepoint. Just don't have the time anymore. Funny how that happens as we age, isn't it? And then, we reach a point were time is all we have and we don't have the eyesight anymore!

You said it all! I look at the needlework I did, even when my children were very young, and marvel at how I did it all. Now, between the eyeglasses, and the patience to sit for so long...oh my! Life does go on!!!

Beautiful handwork - some people are so clever.

I like the Nara quote. When we hurry, we miss all the details that make life beautiful - like a freshly blooming flower at the side of the path, a child's quickly passing smile, a hug from a friend - just because we thought we were too busy to stop. May you discover unseen beauty in your lives today.

Here's one for you Aknan that you reminded me about.

HE ONLY SAW THE BEAUTY

When Jesus walked amid
The people of His land
He only saw the beauty
As the leper stretched out his hand.

When the woman was about to be stoned
For the sin of adultery
Jesus looked into the depths of her eyes
And He saw only the beauty.

When Peter denied he knew Him
Three times before the cock crowed
Jesus saw only the beauty
Of the seeds that Peter sowed.

And even in Judas, who would betray Him
Jesus saw some beauty there
Allowed him amongst the twelve
And all Jesus had, he did share.

And that day in the temple
With righteous anger he drove men out
Who sought to destroy the beauty
"Begone! " He said with a shout.

Heavenly Father, help me to see
Others through Jesus' eyes
To accept them as they are
To be compassionate towards their cries.

Help me not to judge by appearance
But to draw on God's store of love
Jesus sees only the beauty
As He watches tenderly from above.

Beautiful poem, Aussie! I can do intricate embroidery (or I could, when I was young before my hands got creaky! ), but I have never been able to write a poem. Poetry is an art in itself! And you, my dear, are an artist!

Thank you Joyce - never like poetry in my lift and a friend of mine living nearby had a daughter who was going to the USA as an exchange student. When I came I was thinking about our conversation and suddenly I got my first poem and been writing ever since. I am always amazed at the poems, it is a gift and I give God the glory. Hugs.

I remember my mom having embroidery hoops - I taught myself how to juggle with them. Briefly, I also did some cross stitching using them.
