I like the smell of coffee, but I don't care for black coffee. I do like to drink a cappuccino. Or a mochaccino. There used to be a coffee shop across the street from where I lived - they had all these different coffee drinks - ones that tasted like a Snickers bar. My favorite was a Funky Monkey - chocolate, banana, and peanut flavorings.

Hi JamieT, Sounds like a great coffee shop. Mochaccino and cappuccino are my favorite coffees. Love Pumpkin Spiced Latte in the fall. Right now, I've tried a new one, Mexican Spiced Chocolate, has a bite to it. I believe it has chocolate w/chilli pepper in it. Great for morning and daytime, but not evening. Two nights ago, it kept me up all night. Strong stuff. :)) That "Funky Monkey w/ chocolate, banana and peanut flavorings sounds really good. :) Have a great weekend. :)

It was a great coffee shop. The Funky Monkey was great and I have found another coffee shop that had all the flavorings.

Have a great weekend too!

Have never heard of a mochaccino or a funky monkey either but the funky monkey sounds good. Don't know whats in the other you mentioned. Maybe I could try and look it up to see how they are made. Maybe there is a homemade version.

A mochaccino is chocolate flavored. The funky monkey is a cappuccino with those flavors. They also had coffee drinks like, Almond Joy (chocolate, coconut, and almond) cappuccino, Snickers (chocolate, caramel, and peanut), and many others. I think they just experimented with different flavors.

We really don't have good coffee shops around here, Orlando area yes, but not in Central West Gulf coast...my area. I have to make my coffee flavors from scratch or order flavored coffee on-line.
We had a terrible day, Tues. Terrible storms, lightning, thunder, torrential rains for 7 hours. Flooding in the area and a car down the street got hit by lightning. :( Needless to say, my computer was not on at all. :( Hope you are having better weather and all is well with you. Have a good day.

We've (Kansas City area) have been having nightly storms, but it's nothing like Texas and Oklahoma.

Stay safe!

JamieT, where do you live around KC? I used to live in Belton, but I worked in North Town, Olathe, St, Louis, Denver and Chigago.

Anchorage, Alaska - by a very circuitous route, too! Been up here since August, 1983. It's truly home now. When we go Outside (our term for the Lower 48), we can take it about 3 days (unless we're vacationing in Mexico or Hawaii) before the traffic and all the people get to us.

Happy anniversary! My Dad and Mom just had their anniversary on May 15th. They have been married 61 years but they knew each other years before since teenagers, but didn't get married till after my Dad got back from the Korean war as a Sgt in the marines.

Only very occassionally with lots of other stuff in it for me. Like it with plenty of cream, sugar rum and cinnamon as a dessert.

Sorry. Forgot the comma...or maybe I didn't but the keyboard didn't connect. I find my keyboard often doesn't fire off all the stuff I hit, unless it's a letter I don't want!

I just adore coffee, all kinds of coffee! Hot, cold, w/cinnamon, rum, vanilla. Pixipixil's rum idea sounds good, never tried that one. Have had Kahlua in coffee. In the fall, love Pumpkin Spice. And of course Cappuccino w/cinnamon and espresso w/cream is great too. If I don't start my day with coffee.......Oh, well the day has not started at all. :( Have a great day and weekend. :))

Thanks tomandRay. You too. Have a wonderful memorial Day weekend. Are you going to any parades?
tomandray

Hi Pixipixil, No sorry to say, we're not going to any parades. Just doing a picnic on Monday with the neighbors. :) Enjoy the parade if you are going to one. :))

We don't really socialize. My hubby hates it. No neighborhood do's, no parades. He won't even go the the July fireworks. I used to have to take my son w/o him. My husband likes movies so that is how we spend our celebrations no matter the holiday including Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I've never had a cappuccino but I love coffee, hot or cold. Isn't it strange that a mild skunk odor smells like coffee?
pixipixil
May 22, 2015
I don't think so. To me its sort of limey. I like it. Not a full blown close up smell, tho with it's tarry (to me) stink.

I thought the same thing about the skunk odor with coffee, especially if you go outside for a minute and come back in but it was like that with all the drip coffee makers. Went to the old fashioned percolator on the stove this past winter and that skunk smell isn't there with the percolator, and the coffee is better then any way I have ever had and no bitterness at all, smooth and smells wonderful and tastes great too. I will never do coffee any other way now. Takes longer but is worth it!

Hi Seaview - If you actually have a sea view you are very, very lucky. My mother always used a percolator. I use a French Press and I like it very much. I didn't mean the coffee smells like skunk, I meant the mild skunk odor smells like coffee, mine or any kind. There is nothing like a good cup of coffee! Have a great day.

I used to have a seaview at the ocean but it was also the first name in the area I lived.
Now I have a area I can see the lake but it is mainly in one big picture window. The best view though is when I get on top of my roof to clean my chimney pipe, and also my gutters and roof from pine needles. There is a way better view up there, lol.
If I want a seaview now I have to go to my sisters beach house on the Oregon coast and boy what a seaview that is. The ocean is right out the windows that are all across the front of the beach house.
I have heard of French press but have never used them.
My Mom used a percolator all the time when we were kids but I never did till this past winter.

You and me both, Seaview. I call my lake view a seasonal one because it takes all the trees losing their leaves to see much. I have been after my husband to build a second story with porch so we could have a year round view but we are afraid the foundation would not support it.
