Thanks Bobby--I was just thinking about year to current prices. My Grandmother & Mother went to Lithuania just before the Crash. Gran came home w/Russian Fitch coat & beautiful amber pieces.

It is a fur coat that ranges in colors yellow thru brownin vertical stripes. I still have it. When I looked up Russian Fitch it is defined as a polecat(? ) When I took it to the Furrier, I was told that it was quite rare, valuable, & to keep it. So I did, but fur is not popular any more.

It is a beautiful coat--but you are RIGHT--it is part of our Family. Thanks for zeroing in on the true story. If, during the Depression, my grands needed $$, they would have sold it--but didn't.
Love Oregon, but I really miss California. Lived most of my life in San Jose, Ca. so I had the chance to spend a lot of time in San Francisco, it is a wonderful place to explore. The bridge is beautiful. You all stay safe.
My brother lived in Fremont and worked in San Jose for many years. We visited three times and love all the museums and Chinatown and Golden Gate Park--especially the Japanese garden there.

Pixi my youngest brother lived in Fremont also. Golden Gate Park is one of my favorite places, like you the Japanese Garden is one of my favorites. Did you know they used to keep buffalo at the park in a giant encloseur. My parents took us to San Francisco at least once a year. Be safe out there.

Thanks, darambo. You too. The other day a driver nearly broadsided me in a parking lot. Luckily I was able to react quickly and pulled out of his way. I just sat there hardly believing I hadn't been hit. The driver was a young fellow and came by to apologize.
No, I didn't know about the buffalo. How strange!

I got to go to San Francisco for a very fast trip. I just remember being by the waterside. Seeing the bridge but not getting to be on it. Just beautiful. That part of Cali certainly is!
