Even though there is no silver showing in this photo, I'm wanting to sing the song which I think is from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. It's called, "Silver and Gold."

I found out it's on youtube and the singer is Burl Ives. My daughter adored him when she was a little girl. Here's the first few lines:
Silver and gold, silver and gold
Ev'ryone wishes for silver and gold
How do you measure its worth?
Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth

So much fatigue now that wrapping presents just proved too much this year. Everything has had to go into gift bags - half of them recycled from gifts I've received!! Watch me try and get them back for another round of giving!! -- well, I can always say I'm helping tidy up!!
I'm being made dinner on The Day then they are going away about 3pm, they tell me, and I shall probably spend the rest of the festive season snoozing with the cats!
Have a really great time over the next two weeks. And just think, for those of us up here in the Northern hemisphere the days are getting longer now! So it must be Spring!?!?
I shall raise a glass, or three, to you all and send good wishes! x

Nanny, I'm right there with you and wrapping presents! Fatigue is terrible this year. I have to wrap (or gift bag! ) one present then rest for 15 minutes. Then there are stockings...I have 15 people coming for Christmas Eve, ranging in ages from 6 months to 88 years. Buying gifts was like pulling teeth! I bought all the gifts online and I'm still waiting for several of them to be delivered. My fingers are now throbbing from tying bows! Ahhh, tis the season! Even with the pain and fatigue, it's still my favorite time of year! I'm blessed that my whole family lives nearby, and since we're all getting together on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day will be spent snoozing with my hubby! He'll be as exhausted as I will be...he's my "go-fer" for all the preparations!

Merry Christmas to all! Take time out from all the hub-bub to remember the reason for the season! Jesus Christ is born!

Thank you for telling me how tired you are. I skipped a year of decorating and when I got back to it this year it threw me for a loop. I was startong to wonder if I was having heart trouble I was so beat.

Finally getting to the puzzle at bedtime. If it's as hard as everybody says I may not finish. We saw Star Wars today and it was a real walk down memory lane.
Wishing you all get everything done in time top rest up for Christmas.

Goof, maybe if you go to a church service on Christmas Eve or Christmas day it might help.

Several decades ago, right after my then-hubby and I had gotten divorced and our children were young, their dad came over early on Christmas day since, of course, the young'uns were up at 7am. It was lovely having the kids open their gifts and...then...their dad left with them to go to his parents' house. I hadn't thought about what to do on Christmas day past doing 'Santa Claus' for the kids so, from about 8:30am until the kids got home I sat in my living room by myself.

Please do something to make your Christmas day pleasant.

Hugs
