I LOVE tea, especially ICED tea. It reminds me of having a CLOSE friend in Jesus---a TRULY, REFRESHING BLESSING just like COOL and CRISP ICED TEA.

Isn't it odd how our sensitivities change over time? When I was young, I adored the scent of lilacs. My grandmother had a large bush just outside of her dining room window and I waited all winter for springtime to bring it to life. I would stand by the window and breath in the aroma that to me meant that warm lazy days were just ahead. But as I've grown older I find the scent rather cloying and sometimes overwhelming. Or maybe, it's just the sorrow that comes from knowing that my grandmother, her house and the lilac bush are gone forever.

Dear fropo, what a lovely story - such a talent to be able to write that way. Are you an author, if not you should be. Hugs.

Dear fropo, My mother passed away on New Year''s Eve 2009. She grew up on a tobacco farm; and her favorite memory is playing and hiding in the lilac bushes growing in front of her house. Every time I see lilacs, I am reminded of her and I feel a great deal of comfort. I pray for your comfort and peace. Take care, God's Blessings and Hugs :)

Aussiesapphire-No, I'm not a published writer (unless you count Reader's Digest or other magazines). My best friend, who went home to our Father tried to get me to submit, but I don't believe I could handle the rejection notices. When we write, we commit something of ourselves to paper. So a rejection of our work is like a rejection of ourselves.

Olamae-Thank you. My grandmother has been gone for over 30 years and her house was sold, torn down and a new, modern structure was built on the land. Blessings and hugs to you, also.

Hi fropo, please let me encourage you to submit your work and remember (as I have to do) that each rejection slip gets you one closer to where your work will be accepted and appreciated. I have been writing poetry for a long time and have submitted it to many publishers most of whom say "your work is good, but we don't know who you are" Catch 22 I's afraid. However, in the past few months my work has been published in a local newspaper, unpaid of course, but I believe that when the time is right (in God) that it will all happen. So do consider doing it - you write very well and I know lots of people would enjoy your work. Hugs.

Oh it is good to be back to puzzling. My husband had a stroke in November and it has been a long hard climb for him to get some of his strength back. So I have had to do all of the work - his and mine. But I am so happy to do it and take care of him too. Now that warmer weather is visiting us here in Michigan I have more energy to do the tasks and he is a little peppier too. I hope all of you have been well and I'll try to catch up with you when I can. God bless all of you as He has blessed us. Love, Life and Laughter, Annie

Sending you a hug, Annie. I know that you've been busy but hopefully with the change in weather, you can take your husband out for a walk. Then take breaks when needed and maybe even grab a bench somewhere and have a little picnic. Wishing you God's blessings.

Taffi,
Thank you so much for your kind words and especially the hug. I really needed that today. My husband is busy watching the Detroit Tigers lose another ball game. But there is still hope for them because they are only in the 4th inning.
Hugs back at you and I hope you have a good day.

Lovely colours as usual! Are those lilacs or something else? I sit here with my breakfast tea and enjoy the puzzle. Nice to have tea with you all this morning! Hope you all have a lovely day.

They look like lilacs to me orinoco. I'm enjoying my tea as well. Just gave my son some nettle leaf tea which I think is helping us all with seasonal allergies. Happy Spring!

A tablespoon of locally-produced honey every morning helps too. Put it in your tea, or on toast, or just swallow it down.
