I am surprised so many people do not like fruit cake. My sister makes one with only four ingredients and it is moist and delicious. A packet of mixed fruit soaked overnight in 500 mls chocolate milk, self raising flour and something else. If you want the recipe I can ask her for it. Making my mouth water just thinking about it. Hugs to all the fruit cake lovers.

I love Fruit Cakes, where the fruit is soaked in Ginger Ale overnight. It is always moist. It comes from an old Edmonds Cook book.

It depends on the fruit cake for me but both of those sound good. I like mine moist. My great grandmother made a real good one with gram crackers, marshmallows, and fruit candies but it is very hard to make since you are pressing all those dry ingredients into a loaf. I tried to make it once but the arthritis in my hands said not happening. :)

This sounds like it but substitute 600 mls chocolate milk for the orange juice.

FOUR INGREDIENT CHRISTMAS CAKE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1 kg of mixed dried fruit {Carol likes the Big Sister brand}
2 cups of pure orange juice
2 cups of self-raising flour
1/2 cup of nuts {walnuts and almonds work well}
METHOD
♥ Place the mixed fruit and orange juice in a bowl and mix well. Leave to soak overnight.
♥ Once the mixture has soaked overnight, add in the flour and nuts and mix to combine. Preheat your oven to 180ºC, and line cake tin with baking paper. Pour in mixture and cook for 1.5 hours, checking regularly after the hour mark to see if it’s cooked through {it will be cooked when firm to the touch}.

I have it somewhere and will check it out tomorrow for you.

Hugs.

This seems to be a lighter fruit cake, not as dense as most.
It might change some minds!

I hate fruitcake. It's raining here today, at least it's not snowing.
