Is French Toast what we called Witches toast as children? We soaked bread in beaten egg and then fried it ate it with bacon not with fruit. It was to stop us asking for fried bread and to eat more eggs, loved it. As I got older liked it with Marmite and now I have not had it for years, must have a word with the chef.
God loves you and I know that He will bless you with all that you need.
Aussie, I will put Lyn on the Mass list for daily prayer, He will hear us all and bring His will for Lyn to fruition as only He can.

It is, indeed, Barbaranne. Was a good way to use up old bread, too. Mom sprinkled ours with powdered sugar and they were SO good!

Bless you for giving your prayers so freely and openly, dear sister. May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Love French Toast. Mom used to make ours with butter and maple syrup on top. My son and husband don't like it so I don't get it very often. You all be safe.

Barbaranne, Would you please put a dear friend of ours on your Mass list for daily prayer? Her name is Deborah C. and she has been diagnosed with cancer. She and her son are very dear to us. Thanks so much.

Thank you Jingles and Barbaranne. Jingles I'm sorry you have that condition but heartened to know you are surviving it. My friend knows God. She was once a nun and hasn't forsaken her faith--just the convent.

Pixi, Afib is one of the "livable" diseases. If your friend follows the doctor's orders and takes medication, he/she should be okay. Praying!

Thanks aknan. The problem is complicated by a fall she took. I think there is fear of a stroke. She had an ablation some years ago but needs a different kind this time. That's all I know.

I'll pray for your friend Pixi - also I pray for aussies friend Lyn. I watched my father go through cancer. He never complained. There hasn't been one day that I haven't thought of him. Really miss him! I made Cinnamon Swirl Bread and the other day I made French Toast with it. I have another follow up with my doctor. He's the doc/surgeon that perform my op two weeks ago. I know he'll suggest another surgery - major surgery. My hubby has a heart irregular heartbeat. He has a double whammy - heart and kidney issues. Then he has gout besides of the strong pain killers for his gout.

Aknan and Jingles are right. Afib is one thing you can live with if you take the meds. My husband lived with it for 11 years. It was NOT what he died from. So good luck to your friend piki.

I prayed a few times for your friend Pixi - one day I was at work and everyone heard this huge boom. Even the building shook - we all wondered what happened. Then we all realized oh it was the space shuttle landing. Cape Canveral is about 8 hours away.

Thanks for the prayers, Carol. We had three loud booms Sunday. Somebody was shooting off fireworks over the lake. I really don't understand what the attraction to making a loud noise is but some folks here can't get enough.

Some days I could see the reason for the booms - July 4th. We had one neighbor across the lake. They were playing really loud music - we could here it all the way across the lake. This was playing at about 2:00am on a weekday. You'd think that the other neighors would have told them to keep it down.

I know. Nobody wants to antagonize people who are already antagonistic in passive way. Around holidays they start days ahead. The only good part is some folks have enough money for some nice fireworks--not just the noise kind, and being near the lake we can see some. I have wanted to put on a second story with a porch so we could see over the houses between us and the lake but my husband has recently become averse to this. We used to talk about a second floor all the time but now that it's a possibility he has changed his mind. That's his modus. Hold out lots of delicious possibilities but when the time comes veto them all.

One year we did blast off a firework. It was called the howler - oh boy did it howl. It was cylinder shaped. You'd light it and then when it got down to the bottom it let out a high pitch sound. We were on a trip and coming home when we bought it. I was a kid at the time. 3 week trip from MN to the west and west coast. We traveled by car. Many great memories

I would really appreciate prayers for a friend in New Zealand who has cancer of the mouth and has been given three options. One is to leave it alone and she would die from it, two is she can have radium/radiation treatment which has a 90% chance of failure, the third is removing 1/3 of the roof of her mouth. Needless to say she is very distressed and also has a daughter who has not spoken to her in four years. God has blessed her with an amazing support group of friends. I am a bit far away to give her personal support, but have been praying for her for some time. Her name is Lyn. God bless all of you. Hugs.

Prayer for His will to be done in Lyn's life. Prayer should always be our first option. It saddens me that so many, who profess to be believers only resort to prayer after everything else has failed. Also, prayer for guidance if she should decide on one of the other options or to research other options.

Taffi don't remember seeing you on here before, but what I wanted to tell you was I added your parents to my prayers, so sorry about what they are going through. Also you are in my prayers, been in your place so I know how difficult this is for you. Try to stay strong. Bless you and stay safe.

I used to post a lot and then got hit with depression. I'm home now with fibromyalgia. Pain all the time and now arthritis is setting in. Sigh. Thank you, darambo. I believe that God is in control and will be with Mom. I'm closer to her as my father is in the UK. Not close there, for sure. But he's still my father and I love him. Not enough money for me to get over there to visit but he wants me to....That's another prayer request to add, if you would. I'm on disability and husband is a driver for an organization. Thank you, hun.

Taffi request added. Know how it is to be in pain all the time. My back is a mess going in for the second surgery and my Dr. says there will be more in the future. I had to retire early and my husband is on disability. Where are you at, if you don't mind me asking? I am in central Oregon USA. Take care and I will remember the prayers.

Hi Taffi, depression is such a terrible thing and takes a lot of care and love on behalf of friends and family to conquer it. I've been there. I have also lived in Ontario, in Hamilton for two years. Beautiful country. Hugs.
