Great picture of freedom tower. I'll never forget when we got a call about the planes attacking us. What a horrible time.

When in NYC in April went to see the World Trade Center. Quite the place. Would go again. The elevator was wonderful with picture of the area around it. At lunch in the tower! Was in NYC for my nephews movie review--"14 Minutes from Earth". His space suit is going into the Smithsonian. A book was just published about his space journey--" The Wild Black Yonder" by Jared Leidich. Alan gave me an autographed copy of it that said "Thanks for the wonderful support all my life". He is my twin sisters oldest!

I'm going to have to look that book up now. How very exciting for him and the entire family. What a wonderful tribute he gave you. I'm sure it meant a lot to you.

I've been searching for the book, but only found one on ebay. The seller said it's a signed edition. You never know though, they may have signed it themselves! lol From reading the ad for it, I thought it sounded like something I'd really like to read, so I'll keep my eyes open for it.

He sounds like a wonderful man. Anyone that writes a note like he did to you, is A-OK in my book!

Thanks. He is my favorite--and only nephew. Occasionally he flies in for a few days. Yes, he has his own airplane. He has worked hard all his life and if he's happy doing what he likes, more power to him. He deserves it.

Thank you, Ankan, I'll check it out. The time's not right yet, I'm still working on plans for my brother's memorial on the 11th, along with my family. So I really am not able to concentrate enough to be reading a book right now, but I do plan on getting it.

Elijah, It sounds like he had a dream and motivation and accomplished what he set out to do, I'm proud of him and I don't even know him! lol

A tribute to the strength of the human spirit. If 9/11 proved anything it is the courageousness and basic goodness of the people of NYC. This day meant to denigrate the US elevated us despite its tragedy.
God be with all the families of lost loved ones and God bless the responders and their families, too. Since I'm late with this I am happy God knew I would ask for His blessing and already gave it.

Hello Rise, or should I say Hi rise.n The one building reminds me of what used to be called the Sears Tower in Chicago. I wonder why Roebuck never had a tower named after him. It was a great ride to the top of the building, but it was a big letdown when it was time to leave.

Sad day to remember, all the lives that were lost or changed, bless them and all the responders. Be safe

I can't believe it's been 15 years. Seems like yesterday and it was one of the most beautiful days I remember ever exeriencing. When my sister-in-law called to tell me about the planes I thought, being she was schizophrenic, that she was having a breakdown. Then I turned on the TV. That day was so special it was like heaven was opened and I believe all those poor people went straight to God.

Aussie, I am so sorry I missed your birthday. I just got so busy with doing a paper that I was not even on here all day except to work on my assignment. I hope your birthday was as awesome as you are. When God made you, He made one incredible lady. Love and hugs from across the world.

Dear mamag, thank you so much for your lovely wishes and am surprised you have time to be on here at all with all you are doing. It was the best birthday ever and have another morning tea this morning, and one yesterday with friends, and then I have to settle in to being 76 and see what the next year brings. Many hugs.

Someone who was in the second tower spoke at our library. There were 48 people in his group on the top floor. Most of them decided to ride the elevator on the 90th floor and didn't make it. Only seven people from his group made it. He said most of the people have still not been identified. You know men would have their wallets on them and the women left their pocketbooks where they were. It was very interesting. A former minister of mine saw it happen and later died in the earthquake in Haiti.
