1008 pieces takes some time to do. cross stitching by hand is a bit easier! Love to do both of them....

Lol! Love the typo! :) I used to do all kinds of stitchery, too. I even taught classes in it for a while. I miss it so much now...My eyes have a hard time reading directions and my hands hurt too bad to do such intricate work. Oh, all the things old age steals away from us! But the addition of grandchildren brings back more than enough joy!!

You are certainly right about grandchildren! I became a grandma for the first time at 41 and have been raising my grandson, and now also his 12 year brother since that time- 19 years ago! I also have a beautiful 10 year old granddaughter who lives around corner from us, so I am VERY lucky! Although I am "only" 60, I had terrible pain in with my back and neck spasming as well as arthritis in my fingers. I changed to a Paleo/Primal diet and ALL my pain disappeared after just a few days! That was almost 4 years ago. When I "cheat" for a few days, the pain comes right back, and when I eat properly again the pain disappears again! Grains are inflammatory so giving them up really helps SO much for joint pain, etc. It also cured my 3 day migraines, insomnia and more. It might be worth Googling and reading about for you?! By the way, I also used to do a lot of needle work- my 97 year old mom and my daughters still have my work hanging in their homes.

Life is funny! I think a lot of us are living parallel lives - some of us have so many similarities! I became a grandma for the first time at 43 and practically raised my first 3 grandsons, now 18, 17, and 14. I finally got my granddaughter about 16 months ago, and have another grandson due in May. I love them ALL to the moon and back!
I'm "only" 62, and I have nerve damage over the left side of my body and neuropathy in both hands and feet. I've tried many different diets (including Paleo), drugs, exercises, etc. and none of them work. I've just had to modify my lifestyle around the pain. I find that a positive attitude is my best friend. And Jesus helps me with that!

That's crazy about our ages and grandsons! Your nerve and pain issues must make it more difficult to raise kids- tough enough without! Glad you have found ways to help you cope.

Looks like counted cross stitch. I have done it but it's not my favorite thing to do. I much prefer quilting, crochet and beading.
