Cucumbers are great as a salad w/sour cream dressing with a bit of dill, but I've never had them in a sandwich, just pickles.

Happy day for you Barbaranne time to celebrate Birthdays are a happy occasion. As for cukes I have tasted ice cream made with cukes in a vanilla base - a bit different. Love mine with the sour cream, s&p, onion, and a little oil. Sounds Dutch or Scandinavian style.

Love cucmber salad. My mother made it with slivers of onion, vinegar and sour cream salt and pepper. I love d that but also make cucmber sliced thin with onion slivers, green olives and diced tomatoes with balsamic vinegar and a little oil.

Thank you cowbells, and trynfindit I think it is some sort of flu and at least he is sleeping well at night and yesterday slept for a good part of the day. But as soon as he gets up he starts this awful coughing. As he won't go to the doctor will just have to sweat it out. He got some antibiotics yesterday, so hopefully they will help. He had the flu shot this year, so not sure what it is he has. Thank you all for your love, concern and prayers. Hugs.

Momstoy, he thinks he has bronchitis and if it is, it's the worst case I have ever heard. It is now just after noon on Sunday and I told him if he does not improve soon, I will be calling the doctor. He plans on seeing a doctor tomorrow. Thank you for caring. Hugs.

My husband went to the doctor yesterday, YAY!!!! and the anitbiotics he is using are not working, so she has put him on steroids (the mind boggles) and is picking up the script today, too late yesterday to get it. Now I have come down with it and it seems to have settled in my throat, so am talking like a squeaky mouse this morning lol. Rarely get cold sores, but have a beauty on my bottom lip. Because of the throat being so sore, spent the last two nights coughing - we are a right royal pair at the moment lol. Thank you all for your prayers and God bless mamag and rozina in particular. You are all such a lovely bunch of people, just want to hug the lot of you. HHHUUUGGGSSS!!!

I love cucumbers in salads...I just need a tomato, a cucumber, some feta cheese, olive oil, squeezed lemon and oregano. With a slice of bread it's a wonderful dinner for summer days like these...
Fell in love with that salad when I lived in Greece in '73. We'd order one of those and a kilo of lamb chops - made a wonderful meal for 4 of us. And being young and stupid, we also drank a bottle of retsina, too. Don't think I could drink that now....
