It's amazing how things grow out of a rock and usually look so healthy!

Beautiful and interesting island. It makes for a fun puzzle. We are still in very cold weather. -21 C or -6 F with a wind chill of -32 c or -26 F. Coldest February yet! I am looking forward to Spring!

AMEN! Yesterday a.m. was minus 10 degrees. Today, much better at 10 above.

Hi marine5153, I noticed that your icon is a birthday cake and I was wondering if your birthday is soon? Mine is today and it is another cold day at 9 degrees right now.

Thank you to those of you who wished me a Happy Birthday. It was a lovely day. My husband made dinner for the two of us, homemade macaroni & cheese and shrimp. We also had birthday cake. I turned 66.

Glad it was a happy day, Annie. Wishing you a wonderful 66th year.

That would be a wonderful 67th year. When celebrating a first birthday, for example, the person has just finished their first year.

You are correct trynfindit. I think Annie knows what I meant.

I'm sure she did. I get too literal sometimes. Mea culpa. :\

It's interesting tho, trynfindit, that we don't have a zero year then count the first year; It reminds me of the different way people number floors in an apartment. Some start with ground floor then the one above is the first floor and others call the ground floor the first floor. You know it took a long time for a civilization to come up with the concept zero?

Annie you are most welcome. Stay warm.

Pixi, I guess "0 year" is in the womb.

That makes sense! Never thought of that.

That gives a short "year". But zeros are mysterious creatures. I hear the theme from Twilight Zone fading in and out.

I was curious as to where Croatia is located, so I looked it up. Now I would LOVE to visit!! I have always wanted to travel, but we never could afford it. Now that my body has given out, I don't believe I could travel anywhere anyway. So I guess I'll just have to visit by doing these beautiful puzzles! Thank you C4J for letting us live vicariously through you!

Right now I am sailing around exploring all the beautiful islands, enjoying the gentle breezes. Later tonight we are going to have a leisurely dinner at an authentic outdoor Croatian restaurant. We're going to eat Mediterranean food with an Italian influence and enjoy an enticing glass of wine (even tho I don't drink, I'd enjoy a sip or two! )...Mmmm...I don't think I'll ever leave this place!

Hi Joyce. We still can travel but my stomach attacks are getting more frequent so I don't know for how long. I'm sick today and was sick on Wednesday. This week was my husband's winter break adn between the weather and my stomach we have been mostly housebound.
I'll join you on the armchair travel to Croatia. Ever since I saw a nature special about the Park of the Falling Waters I have wanted to go see it.

Feb 21, 2015
Pixi, what's wrong with your stomach? Is it a recent illness or something ongoing?
pixipixil
Feb 21, 2015
Ongoing and getting worse each year. I have a tortuous bowel caused by adhesions from operations to remove ovarian cysts. (I had 3 of those and the last one messed me up, tho no one will admit it.)It means the bowel is folded on itself which constricts it so the stuff has trouble getting through. My last colonoscopy had to be stopped things were so tight. And I have diverticulosis. Between both conditions I'm exhausted, frequently have cramps and am often tied to the bathroom.
trynfindit
Feb 22, 2015
Oh pixi, I'm sorry to hear you suffer so. My father had diverticulosis so I know how painful that can be for you. Is there nothing that can be done about the folded bowel?

Be4 I started doing puzzles, I did a lot of "traveling"on the travel channel. Went to a lot of places that I will never get to really go. Oh yes, didn't even have a passport. I have done a lot of "real" travel right here in the good ole USA or at least the lower 48. Been in Canada a couple times. (Just barely). I've been on 4 very different cruises and out to several islands. Like the the ones in so. gulf of mexico and just off the west coast to Catalina island. Oops I almost forgot I've also been to Acapulco, Mexico.

We do the US and Canada also. Haven't even been on a cruise or seen any Carribean Is. I would like to go to one preferably with mountains and some rain forest. We used to rent near Long Beach LI so have had plenty of beach and ocean--tho not with palm trees.
