I used to love picking just the right tie for my guy to wear with his suit, although he did have good taste in clothes, he was a little more flashy than me. I tried to tame him down a bit, but it didn't always work.

Me either feisty, my memories of my father are mostly unhappy ones. My sister got all his love and I got the back of his hand most of the time. Hearing us both talk of him, you would think it was two different people. He died very young at 49 when I was 21, but a lot of bad memories still linger. God bless you and it is nice we have our heavenly Father's love. Hugs.

I agree. Some of us weren't lucky to have a great dad! To the ones who are loving and involved in their children's lives- Happy Fathers Day! You deserve to be honored! To the lousy ones- nope!

Like how you phrased that lydia. More Dads need to learn how to parent. Mine was so-so, not great, but not terrible. My husband was not an involved Dad to our kids either.

We just got word that my husband's youngest sister died. She has been very sick with Hep C and other ailments for many years. She suffered from such bad migraines she could hardly bear to even talk on the phone. It is sad but a blessing that she has gone home to God. Please pray for her and my husband's family.

Thank you Tomandray. I will pass your kind thoughts to my husband. It was not unexpected at least. She had lived a libertine life when she was younger and it caught up with her. In her last years as an invalid she turned to the Lord so I am sure she is now in heaven.
