Are you and Jingles near each other?

I think we are both in Indiana. I'm in the very NE, on the MI line and 8 miles from OH. Everyone in IN is south of me, and most of them are also west LOL! I've forgotten where Jingles is from, but I was thinking pixi is from IN, but maybe thinking wrong. It is 0 windchill here today, colder expected tomorrow.

Wouldn't it be funny to find we are neighbors. A friend of mine spotted my license plate 220 miles away, and messaged his sister to see if she knew who from our county was down there! She happened to have seen my facebook status so she knew. Then 2 weeks later my granddaughter started a casual conversation with a woman up here, and found she goes hunting in that same area. Such a small world, even 220 miles away.

Sorry, I meant a friend of mine's brother in southern IN spotted the license plate.

I grew up with this kind of ornament.

Those look like nice ornaments - it they're glass, they must be owned by a family without children. I remember trying to help decorate our tree as a pretty young child, usually breaking 1 or 2 ornaments. Those ornaments were so fragile and not the easiest things for my mom to clean up.

Also back then, if one light bulb was burned out, all of the lights would be out on that string. That was always dad's job.

Usually to keep me and my brother occupied and away from the glass ornaments, we would often string popcorn or cranberries, or make a chain of rings with construction paper and Elmer's Glue.

One of my greatest lessons in parenting happened at Christmas. When decorating the tree the kids used to each load a branch with ornaments until the poor branches touched the floor. At first I got upset that they weren't doing it "right." But my little God-voice said, "No, they are doing their bit to make the tree beautiful and having a wonderful time." So I relaxed and let them sag a few branches. Then we'd all have cocoa.

I remember ornaments like these, too, JamieT. They seem to crumble easily under the weight of their own gaiety.

That was a hard one, think it is the worst time I have ever had!!!!

"Fall seven times, get up eight." Japanese proverb.

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." – Dr. Seuss

(One of my favourite quotes.)

"Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and twice as beautiful as you've ever imagined." – Dr. Seuss

Go for it! Good night and God bless. Hugs.

Three good ones today/tonight. Can't decide which I like best.
I need the middle one. When I was two or three my folks took me to see the Ice Follies. I was the only kid crying on the way out because it was over.

I really like the Dr. Seuss quotes. The Japanese quote, well, I'd rather not think about falling. I tend to do it more often than I'd like and it seems to take quite a while to get off of the floor any more.

Pixi, when I was 4 or 5 mom and dad took me to see an ice-skating show. Mom had on her fur coat. When we left I held onto mom's coat. Out in the parking lot I discovered the lady wearing the coat wasn't my mom! (She was sitting next to me on my other side at the show.) LOL. What excitement ensued. The lady took me back inside and, of course, my mom and dad, realizing that I wasn't hanging onto her coat, went back looking for me. I thought it was great fun.

Aussie, how's your neighbor Annie doing? A lot of us have been praying for her, and I may have missed your update. I hope she's getting the help she needs.

Rahrah - thanks for asking and for your prayers. I have not seen her for some time and other neighbours have tried to talk to her, but she chases them away. I believe that if she wants to, she will contact me. Thanks again and God bless you. Hugs.
