We put up our decorations last Sunday. They say if you put them up early, it means you're a happy person, so I guess we are.

God is so good; DH just happened to be walking in an area of town we seldom visit and found a topbrand mattress shop was having a huge sale! We desperately need a new mattress and got an excellent one for half price, and new sheets 70% off! They are made after you order (the mattress not the sheets).

I sometimes worry about the future, and then He reminds me that he knows my needs before I do. Sorry, gang, I just hadda tell somebody!

That leaves me out then orinoco. I am not into Christmas at all this year. I have not even put any decorations up yet.Just can't do it. Too many things going on and my mind is being pulled in a million different directions.

Mamag, Christmas isn't decorations and such. It's the feeling you get in your heart when something touches your soul. You may hear a certain carol, walk down a familiar street or attend a church service and feel your heart open to the season. You'll know it's happened when you feel peace again. This is a difficult time of year and I send prayers up for you.

Orinoco, I agree. There were a few years when I was so enveloped in gloom I just didn't want to bother and, for me, that's saying something. So glad God lifted me out of that gloomy state. Christmas is my favorite time of the year and my whole family and I love celebrating it.
And congrats on the new mattress and sheets!

Mamag, I'm so sorry to hear of your distress. I know you've been through a LOT in these past years. Do you have a close friend or a minister who you can talk to? Don't think about decorations or doing anything 'special' during the season. But do focus on God and the great promise that the Christmas season brings to our hearts and our lives. One shining star of hope and love.

Having grown up in the Midwest, for many decades no snow=no Christmas feeling. I find it helps to walk in a busy area at nightfall; crisp cold air, bustling people, bright twinkly lights help a bit. That, and remembering the real reason we started celebrating Christmas. As the old cartoon says, Christmas isn't bought from a store!

Thank you Aknan, Aussie, orinoco, and trynfindit. I know this is the season of joy for the birth of our Lord and Savior. It is just that I am so full of sorrow and depression. With so much going on, my husband and I decided to put up our tree and Jake's nativity on the 22nd.That is the last day for this semester. I will have 4 weeks off from school.I so need a break. I just worry about my husband getting his medicine after they took him off the help he was getting for it. We are both worried how we are going to pay for it as it is going to be more expensive. This new plan will not cover some meds either. This is just putting more strain on us. We are going to talk to our Pastor tomorrow. He and the church have been praying for us and we really appreciate all of them and you and well. Thank you from the bottom f my heart. God bless each of you.

Mamag, you've mentioned that your husband is sick. Would I be too nosey to ask about that? If I am, just say so, no hurt feelings. Hugs.

Trynfindit, my husband has chronic COPD, diabetes, and the medications he is taking is messing up his liver and kidney function. He is on full-time oxygen, insulin, three inhalers, plus other meds for to help keep fluid build up from his heart. He as the point where he literally can't do much of anything. He used to help me around the house when I was doing my school work. He would cook, help with the dishes, do the laundry, and get me anything I needed. Now I am pulling all the weight and no one to talk to. And no Honey, you are not being nosey. Joe (my husband) has also been getting nightmares about our deceased son. Our son keeps saying he misses his dad and wants to see him. The doctor put Joe on anti-anxiety meds as well. So, as you can see, I do have a lot on my plate.

Lord bless you mamag. It's bad enough with the COPD, diabetes and all of the meds but to have nightmares about y'alls son...wow. Your situation makes my heart ache for you and Joe. I can't even think of what to say except that as I pray God hears all that's in my heart. Love to you and Joe and your son.

Went to the doctor yesterday to see about the lump on my ear. He said it was a BCC and I asked him knowing full well what it was, if that meant it was a blind carbon copy. Not sure of the spelling but it is a basel cell carcinoma which if not treated can turn into a melanoma (bad news). He treated it with Nitrous Oxygen and said it would need more than one treatment. Fun fun.

Good night and God bless. Hugs.

The freezing isn't pleasant, but it works. My Dearly Beloved has had it done on his basel cells; of 3, only one is left, which will require another freeze. Don't worry - you've caught them in time. Sunscreen, sunscreen, more sunscreen and hats!

Praying for complete healing, Aussiesapphire. I'm glad you went to the doctor and had it treated. A lot of people let it turn into melanoma. May GOD bless you.

May the one in who's hand your life is, completely cure you Aussie. Have been going through a lot for over a month. Mom had a cut under her left big toe and didn't even know because she's diabetic with bad circulation in her feet. We took her to a private doc who sent her immediately to hospital, that very night after x-ray and examinations her toe was amputated. Gangrene had set in. They tried hard for it not to spread but sepsis set in. After 2 weeks in hospital they had to amputate her leg from just under her knee. It's been a roller coaster ride since that, within a week post op she suffered a heart attack. She survived it. We're all doing whatever has to be done to help her, she's been in diapers after the operation. It's really difficult to see her like that but I put up a brave front and encourage her as best as I can. Still there's so much to give praise for.

Aussie and Malko you are both in my prayers. Aussie, I've had those taken care of before, too. My first one I let go, and they had to remove it surgically. Malko, my heart breaks for your mom, you, and the rest of your family. I pray for you both to have peace and the reassurance that God has you in the palm of His hand. These things don't catch God by surprise, He knew they were coming and has been preparing you for them. He's with you always, He won't let you go, or let you travel this hard road alone. Big bear hugs.

Such a cute little Hat! You all are in my thoughts and Prayers.
next Wednesday I go to have an EMG to see if I have carpal Runnel or just pinched nerves. Doesn't sound like fun. But I want the use of my left hand and fingers.
