Chocolate cheesecake doesn't appeal to me. However, I do like most flavors of cheesecake.

January weather has finally arrived. 10 degrees with a cutting wind.
The lake may finally freeze over and then the ice fishing huts will appear along with the constant ripping sound of ski mobiles and 4x4's racing around the lake. I really could do without that but I like seeing the ice fishing.
My husband has an outing to the movies planned, but my stomach is threatening a tantrum so I have to wait and see. Had to sit for end of singing practice. Will have to decide in next hour.
Wishing you a day of happy tummies.

Are you singing in church again pixi?

I don't have regular work. I do funerals when the regular soloist isn't available. Still, if I don't practice 5 times weekly my voice won't work at all. I really should do breathing exercises every time but I don't. (bad bad bad) It still takes around 40 minutes if I can go straight thru w/o a break. If I have something specific to sing that adds to practice time.

You must really love to sing. Good for you. I am sure God enjoys your praises.

I do for the most part...especially when I'm having a good day. And when I can sing something special that's more than a sing along.
I was very surprised to run into a parishioner from a church for which I cantored for 19 years. Sje told me she really missed a hymn I used to do at Easter. It was really long, she told me. I was confused because my solo for Easter was the Mozart Alleluia which isn't long at all. I finally realized she meant teh Exultet at teh very start of Easter Midnight Mass. I had written my own music for that and it did my heart good to have her tell me because it is the thing I miss doing most of all. Will tell more later.

I don't know if you are familiar with a Catholic Easter Vigil but the Mass opens with all the lights out and the priest saying prayers over a fire from which he lights the Easter candle. From the back of the church we process up the aisle stopping 3 times while the priest intones "Christ Our Light" and the congregation answers "Thanks be to God." During this time everyone is holding a candle and each is lit from the procession. Then the Large Easter candle is placed in a holder next to the lectern and I have processed with the others and mount the steps to the lectern from which, by candlelight, I sing the Exultet. I wore a special white gown I made just for singing that and have never worn it for anything else. I haven't sung that since that church closed.

I totally know what you mean about the troubles in the gut. After 3 years of this upset, I am totally sure that the widespread nature of the problem has been caused by the tainted food supply. Chemical companies are ruining farming as well as our digestion. It seems that the more fresh food we eat, the more upsets occur.

I worry about everything but I just can't go into a lot of esoteric diets. My sister-in-law sent me the names of several nutritionists which were her latest discovery. She is dead now and all the expensive special foods didn't keep her from the hepatitis that destroyed her.

Pixi, have you checked to see if you have IBS. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is treated by a gastroenterologist. You'll have to have a colonoscopy which is the first step.A good diet to start with to reveal the foods that work and don't work for you is the Monash Food Diet. Do a search on that and you'll see what I mean. You seem to be a worrier so you're under stress. That can contribute to IBS. It would be nice if you could sort out a comfortable diet with some meds to ensure very few tummy troubles. I don't wish it on anyone, and yes, I have IBS D. Miserable stuff. Loved reading about your singing. Thanks! Sending you hugs! Oh and Monash is just regular everyday foods.

Thanks, Taffi. I have been under the care of a gastroenterologist for many years. I have had 3 colonoscopies over time. Also had 2 procedures that scope down the esophagus into the stomach (endoscopies?.) Nothing turns up but redness from reflux and hemmorhoids and diverticulitis, I don't know if IBS is something that actually shows up on these things but I do have a tortuous bowel and that probably exacerbates the other conditions if it doesn't actually cause them. Stress certainly can trigger an attack, though.
Thanks again, Taffi. I'll keep the IBS in min. There's some OTC medication by the same company I use for lactose intolerance. The next time I get an attack day I'll try the IBS tablets they make.

Yum! I love cheesecake. I used to have a no-bake recipe for cheesecake that was easy to modify to chocolate cheesecake (without the glaze), but could have canned cherries topping it.

Now I want some cheesecake.

Oh my! Cheesecake, love it too. Going to make one for this weekend. Well, now it will have to be chocolate with cherries and vanilla whipping cream. Drool. :))))

Chocolate comes from a plant, and is therefore a vegetable. And I try my best to get as many veggies as I can every day!
