I'm with you dbnc; most of my doctors are on the other side of town and if it's raining I reschedule. Drivers are so crazy these days - my nerves don't need the stress!

Dbnc2, I just saw your post and wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your caring. He passed away last October, so this month is kind of hard for all of us. The 26th is when he passed, 3 days after his birthday. The wonderful doctor (and God, of course) was able to give him another year of life, for which we all are grateful.

Thanks everyone for your prayers in November. God answered them in a sweet way, and we got to enjoy another Thanksgiving together. My brothers' still undergoing chemo, and will about every 3 months, they say it won't save his life, but he will have a better quality with the chemo. I thought I had replied to all your prayers and good wishes, but I just worked this puzzle again and couldn't find it. I was blessed all over again by your care.

There is a valley on Nova Scotia where they can grow peaches. It has to do with a warm water current that mediates the temperature. I think it's called the Annapolis Valley but don't know for sure.

I knew about beers, but when I was drinking, I never cared for the ones I had tried.

One week until Thanksgiving in the US! Anyone have any huge plans? I'm just doing the usual dinner with my small family.

Just a small dinner for us, also. A small dinner can be a large production, though. I hope everything turns out well.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

I'm going to Prescott with my daughter and her little family. We meet there, at my sister's house every year from all over the State. We generally have 35 or so at the meal. That sounds like a lot of people, but God always provides a way for lots of hugs and love. This year, we will all be thankful that one of my brothers will be with us, for at least this Thanksgiving. He just had a cancerous tumor removed from his brain, and has lung cancer. They give him about a year to live, so I don't know if I'll ever get to spend another holiday meal with him. Please pray for his comfort and a close walk with God. I have another brother and sister who is greatly affected by his prognosis, and I don't know how they'll deal with the loss of him. They are very close. I know my close relationship with God will see me through, as He has always done, so I'm as ok as I can be. There will be extra hugs this year, and probably tears, but one thing for certain, God will be right in the middle of it all, and minister to each one where they're at. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving all, and don't let the chance for that special hug to get by you!

Prayers on the way for your brother, you, and your family. My brother is more than 7 years my junior but was diagnosed with colon cancer about 18 months ago. So far the follow ups have shown good results, but I never expected him to be the one I'd be worried about. Happy, safe travels to all.

Rahrah--I just saw the use of a cold virus to kill cancer. It's a new therapy and working wonders. They inject the cancer cell with a cold and it then is recognized byt the body's immune system. It's basically non-invasive. Hope this helps.

My hubby and I, one of our sons, our oldest daughter and her daughter will be at our house for Thanksgiving. I so look forward to our being together.

rahrah, special prayers for your family and the situations they're facing. This holiday with your family will be a very special one; may God be with each of you.

pixi, my brother was diagnosed with colon cancer a number of years ago but has been doing very well since his treatment. Wouldn't it be a kick if a cold were able to get rid of cancers. Who'd a thought a cold could be good for something.

Thank you KNadine. I only have one brother(no sisters and parents, aunts deceased) so that makes him extra extra special. I do have one uncle I call who is over 90 but he doesn't believe in God although he says he believes in an intelligence behind the univers but not an afterlife. He was brought up Catholic and had wanted to be a priest but his mother dissuaded him, bcause she wanted him to carry on the family name. Turned out he and his wife couldn't have kids so they had to adopt just like us. Anyway, maybe you could send a prayer up for him. I keep hoping something will come along to break through the barrier holding him back from his believing again.

Yes, trynfindit. It just shows God has created all things good. It remains for us to find where that good is hiding sometimes.

Canada is such a stunning country with much beautiful scenery.

"Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come." Robert H. Schuller

"Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish." John Quincy Adams

God bless all of you. Hugs.
