What a beautiful picture! Every picture I have ever seen of Canada has been beautiful. Anyone want to give me an all expense paid trip to their home in Canada? jk!

It has been a very long eleven days for me. On Dec. 28 my former mother-in-law passed away and my caregiver rushed to MO to take care of his mother's business. He returned on Jan 4. On Dec. 29 my very dear friend (and my caregiver's other client and dear friend) passed away. I had told her I would help settle her affairs when she passed so have been very busy clearing out her home and dealing with friends who loved her too. Very hard and painful work - both physically and emotionally. I am hoping life will settle down now and get back to normal - or as normal as it ever is - for me.

God bless you all today and every day. I have missed you all very much.

I'm not sure I can say things have settled down yet. On 1/17 my mother went into the hospital with congestive heart failure. She was just released into rehab hopefully for only a week or so. That same day, her sister passed away. Without God I don't know how I would carry on! I praise Him every day for His mercy and strength.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner but have some health issues myself I'm dealing with!!! I agree that without our God, and I don't know how people do it without HIM, there is no way we can handle life situations without His love, mercy, and strength!!! 3 weeks ago my Mom was put on Hospice - she has gone into heart failure!!! I came to terms with her death about a year and a half ago as I noticed she had deteriorated quite a bit - though she and my sister who is her P.O.A. aren't telling me much!!! My sister Laura is an R.N. and she is very secretive about Mom, as she was with our Dad until I pushed to find out this past January, and she says Mom doesn't want anyone to know what is happening!!! But this isn't what Mom told me but for peace for Mom I am not pushing the matter!!! How old is your Mom? Mine will be 89 on the 23rd of this month!!! We only have one momin our lives but as they age and start getting sick it is hard for us to watch!!! Another reason we need our Lord Jesus in our lives - to help us deal with the very difficult things we need to face!!! Please keep looking up nomatter what is going on in your life and always remember He will not give us more than we can handle (even if we think we can't handle anymore He knows best!!! ).!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend!!! God bless!!! In Christ, Love, jbtkk

Jbutkk, Thank you for your kind words and prayers. I took a few days to go out of town and regather my strength. It really did help. Just a week after my return, my nephew shot and killed himself. Yesterday, my mother passed away.God knows I am really ready for some absolutely wonderful news to cheer me up. Don't know what that might be but God does. My mother was 87 years old last month. A long and (mostly) good life..I practically lived at my father's when he was going down in 2013. It was very painful and hard to watch. Mother lives out of town so I have been unable to see her so much. I count that a blessing! Yes, God knows how much we can take and will never give us more than that. And He is strong when I am weak.

I am sorry you have to go through the pain of watching your mother's health deteriorating. It is so very very hard. and to be His peacekeeper when you have questions your siblings will not answer, is also very hard but so blessed. God be with you. nlb

Nlb, Sorry to hear about your nephew and your Mother!!! You are carrying a lot on your plate right now but give it to Jesus to carry and He will make your load a lot lighter!!! "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest for your souls." (KJV, Matthew 11: 29). My prayers are with you!!! I received a phone call Tuesday night from a nurse who took care of me at night when I lived in a nursing home (2005-2009) who I became good friends with, with the news her Mom had passed away the night before!!! The only blessing out of these situations is that they are no longer suffering!!! Yes, it isn't great for us, it hurts like crazy and we don't know what to do or how to do it, but we have to remember it is best for them!!! And our pain will lessen over time - even though right now our hearts feel like they are being ripped out if our chests right now!!! God bless and may you feel His peace wrap around you and enfold you like a blanket!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you!!!! In Christ, Love, jbtkk

Nbuchanan and Constance1; How r u both? Sorry I haven't been around but the beginning of April my computer had tech problems and I sent it to my niece so her husband and sons could try to find what was wrong, she has been living with her Mom the past 4 years due to disability and other problems and about 2 weeks after I gave it to them they had a house fire and everyone, all the animals got out just fine and no one was hurt, thank the good Lord!!! my sisters part of the house had smoke damage and the boys lost a good amount of their things but my niece and he husband lost everything!!! Unfortunately my computer perished in the fire and it wasn't until late yesterday afternoon that I got a new one so I have been almost 5 months without one but I am just happy no one was hurt and they ere able ti fix the house and move back in!!! Well, may you both have a blessed weekend and will talk with you soon!!!

Welcome back to the puzzling world, jbutkk. I am so glad your family is all ok and able to get back into their home. Since we last "talked" the father of my children passed away - in May. He was only 66 but did not take care of himself. I was totally blown away by how sad his passing made me feel. Almost as bad as losing my mother. About a month ago I found out my step-father has cancer throughout his body. This year will forever be called "the year of the dead" in my mind. Even so, I am doing reasonably well. Stress and allergies have caused my fibromyalgia to flare but it's still manageable. I still praise God every day. God bless and keep you

You definitely have had one very difficult year!!! It seems to me that as time goes on and I hear of more and more people being diagnosed with cancer!!! One of my very best friends was diagnosed with lung cancer about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago and had part of the lung removed (they damaged her vocal cords in the process), her Mom passed this year and I spoke with her over this weekend and she has had what they thought was pneumonia but may actually be the cancer returning!!! She has to go for a Cat Scan tomorrow to check it out!!! Her daughter had been very sick for quite a few years and the docs weren't able to diagnose her right away and t turns out she has 2 rare auto immune diseases and she is only a senior in high school!!! She isn't able to even go to classes all day and then only for the morning, if she is feeling well enough!!! Life is tough but even though we have to deal with illness and death, at least we have Jesus with is to carry us through all of it!!!

I've done a lot of talking with Him so I can deal with it all and not go crazy!!! The Footprint poem is my all time favorite because it reminds me to leave EVERYTHING with Him because I can't do anything about it in my on strength and power but He CAN take it all and deal with it and it may not come out the way I would like it too but it always comes out the BEST way for me!!! I just have to keep reminding myself to leave it all in His hands and let Him go at it!!! My problem I that sometimes He isn't dealing with things as fast as I would like Him to and I then take it back to do it myself. Oh, silly me!!! I eventually come to my sensed and of course I ask His forgiveness and give it beck to Him!!! Believe it or not but I am learning, though it is the hard way, to just leave it for Him to do!!!

My point, after being so long winded, is that even though things have been rough for you these p 10+ months, giving it to Jesus and not taking it back to try again yourself will be the best way to handle all of this. I'm sure you know all this and I hope I haven't offended you by what I've said!!! If I have please accept my apologies because that wasn't my intention.

I pray things start getting better for you and you have happier days ahead!!! God bless!!!

In Christ,
Love,
jbu

Thank you, jbu, you did not offend me at all. Reminders are always good, as well as being shown (once again! ) that I am not the only hurting soul that Jesus is carrying in hard times, and He will not drop me! On that note, my step-brother, who lives right across the street from me is now in the hospital with expectations that he could draw his last breath any minuted now. COPD, and who knows what else. And Jesus is still carrying me through the sand. Thank you for your kind words and your prayers. I will add you and your loved ones to my prayer list. God bless you. nlb

Nlbuchanan;

Please pray for my Mom as she will not be with us much longer!!! She has congestive heart failure and in February her doc gave her 6 months and put her on hospice. It's no 10/15 so she has lived longer than the 6 months, she is a vey strong woman, but she is now failing fast!!! I was supposed to go see her this afternoon and about 12:25 I called her but she didn't answer, tried x2 then called the floor phone and had the staff check on her and she asked me not to come because she was so tired. She has never asked me this before, it was always come anytime you can!!! I call her 2x each day and I told her when I call tonight if she doesn't answer I will try one more time and then if she still doesn't I will call the staff to check on her. Please pray she will go quietly in her sleep and not suffer anymore!!! It will be hard and sad but she will be in a better place and with Dad, which is what she want has wanted since we lost him!!! Thank you!!!

Canada is such a beautiful country and it was when I lived there many moons ago.

"You never know what's around the corner. It could be everything. Or it could be nothing. You keep putting one foot in front of the other, and then one day you look back and you've climbed a mountain." Tom Hiddleston

"The mountains are where God proves He's better than Michelangelo at sculpting." Jarod Kintz

May all your mountains turn into molehills. God bless you all, take care. Hugs.

Not quite around the world, went to Canada in the early 60's on a working holiday, met and married a Canadian (did it twice lol ain't love grand). He got a job in Shreveport, Louisiana, so we moved there. Marriage finally broke up - met and married an American and moved to Houston, Texas. Came back to Australia and after 11 years that marriage broke up (not a good track record as a wife) then later on travelled throughout Europe for four months and visited 16 countries in that time. My wanderlust days are over now and I am content to hear about the travel adventures of others and see the world through documentaries etc on TV. Also re-married a little over two years ago (to an American living here) and my experiences of past failures is helping me (hopefully) not to make the same mistakes again. God really impressed on me before we were married, that I don't always have to be right and so far that has held me in good stead. So there you have a cameo of 74 years on this earth. Thank you all for your interest. Hugs to all of you.
