I had mine for 15 years then my husband complained about the junk on my dresser. So I threw away the topper, silk bouquet and bowtie. later said he had wondered if he was next

Agree good for you! I would have kept it. Often we use those things to remember the event. I'll never forget when I got married. Our wedding coordinator said "In all of my 35 years in this business I've never encountered someone so organized and decisive. I was quite proud of myself. One pastry chef did a picture - frame and everything in solid chocolate. It was so elaborate it looked like a wood frame with a photograph.

Then one staff member asked me if I was excited and I said it was bittersweet. Yes and no! Arrived back to the room and had such a sweet note that I kept it.

My cake topper is 54 years old' The pressed sugar part finally bit the dust but the boy and girl, with her veil are still with me. I only wish my husband would have lived to see this day. He died in 2009. I sure miss him and wished he would have lived to see his first great granddaughter and step grandson. Love them both. I'm sure he is enjoying them from above. It was a good life together.

My cake topper will be 23 years old in April. I still have my mom & dad's, made out of crepe paper. They would have been married 76 years next Wednesday.

Dear fellow puzzlers..just curious..what is the favorite puzzle cut for you? I really find the tessellation, circle and crazy4jigsaws are fun. What's your favorite?

My recent favorite is 88 wavy, then 108 classic. I fall back on my old favorite, 63 tessellation when I'm not thinking clearly.

I like the easy ones such as 192 Classic, although my time is not very good, but I do have fun!

That is well said jas. My husband and I have been married 38 years and we renewed our vows back in May. He is the love of my life and my best friend. We also never had a real wedding. We eloped and waited this long to have a real wedding in which we also both dedicated our lives to the Lord. It is a true blessing to have stayed married that long. Too many young couples today just cannot seem to make a go of it. It is a lot of hard work to stay married that long. I pray God gives you peace and comfort and one day will be with your beautiful wife again.

Our school year began today, unlike the school year on the other side of the world which I believe begins in July.
So lots of small munchkins going to school proudly in their new uniforms in which they will have to do a bit of growing to fit them lol.

Take care and God bless. Hugs.

In England the school year starts in September after the 7 week summer holiday. Now so many people seem to say this is too long. I used to love having my two little boys off school. We used to get up to all kind of adventures. seems like the mums of today don't know how to play with their kids. so sad.

Our schools begin in August or September. We often have a lot of "snow days" in the winter when the kids do not have school.

That's good to hear. Actually in the US, most schools start in August and September. It's possible there are some start in July.
