Fascinating, but think it would be a little chilly in Winter.

Well my doctor confirmed that I am a degenerate lol - at least my spine is and gave me three options. (1) Surgery (2) Cortisone shots into the disks and spine or (3) Pain management. I chose number 3 and he proceeded to tell me that it was ongoing and no cure, to which I replied God can heal it and he said, I don't think God can do it as your spine is in such a mess. What a challenge lol.

Good night and God bless all if you. Hugs.

Sorry, aussie, about your diagnosis.I also have degenerative disc disease. Have had two back surgeries (disc fusions) - where they go into the spine through the front of your neck. My problems were high on the back, not lumbar. All went well and can turn my head much further than expected. Awesome what doctors can do! Good luck with your pain management.

Hopefully whatever you decide to do at least helps the pain.

Oh Aussie! I am so sorry about your back. My son is facing the same dilemma. He already had one back surgery and may be facing another one. He also does not want to go through it again. I understand what you are facing. Praying for you my friend.
The Dr. visit was good. She put me on blood pressure medication, something for insomnia, and wants me to take my antidepressant every day for another 6 weeks. I can't get my BP down. There is just so much going on with my family and it is a mess. I still have not truly grieved over my son or my husband's deaths yet. I am so wrapped up in other things I may not even go back to school until the Spring semester of 2020. I have been meeting with 2 of my pastors from church and I am not getting any resolutions yet, Totally confused and messed up. I wish I could talk to you about. Stay healthy my friend and please take care of your back.

Aussie, sorry it's something progressive and incurable. It's smart to put off the cortisone as long as you can. You can always do that later if nothing else helps.
I've got scoliosis and keep shrinking. I'm now 4'10. It aches but I think, like you, there's not much to be done.
Sorry to hear about your family problems, mamag. The greiving will always be hanging there on your shoulder. It isn't something that goes away so don't feel pressed to do anything specific.
Prayers for you both.

Mamag, I can't totally understand what you are going through, except what I saw my mom go through when my step-father died. I can only relate on losing a husband because my last husband disappeared. I came home from work and he had left. I spent a lot of time in "conversations" with God and I cannot begin to explain to you how helpful and what a blessing that was for me. I suggest doing it when you are alone otherwise you get the weirdest looks from other people! Just talk to God and I promise it will help. God bless, mamag. And be patient, learning to live again after the death of a loved one takes time...one tiny step after another. And grieve at your pace and don't listen to the "grief police". Hugs.

I am sorry you have so much back pain, aussie. My husband has that but because of an accident in 1964. He has pain medication he can take, but he does the pain management because he doesn't want to have to rely on medications. We, the Silver Puzzlers, are here to read your vents, frustrations, and just any ole s**t you want to scream about, rant about, or laugh about. We got your back, so to speak!! Love, hugs, and blessings, my friend!

Don't be fooled Aussie. They told me that two years ago/ Got a book by Joe Despenza., awsome book. learning to heal with meditation. Stopped takinf oxies and pain I am able to handle. Doesn't work over night, but I don't take pain pills any more. God does heal, mediation is just another form of pray. And undying faith.

Aussie, my lumbar and thoracic spine areas are also degenerating. I had a spinal epidural over a year ago that took the pain away, thankfully, and can manage any flare-ups with plain aspirin. I hope your medication does its job and I'll keep praying that you have relief.

Aussie --- I feel this is like preaching to the pastor! But here goes ---
Let go --- and let God. God already knows, but wants to hear it from you. Have a running conversation with God. --- somewhere between prayer and meditation.
Also --- I have recently seen TV ads about Spinal Decompression --- non-invasive --- the results seem impressive. Please look into it. It is new. God bless you and lead you in the right direction.

Just don't sit or lay down all the time. Get up and move around often. Movement is your friend. It may hurt at first, but the pain subsides with movement.

I have exactly the same problem aussiesapphire. I wouldn't have surgery at my age 81, injections don't work very well after the first day or two. and the pain management isn't that helpful. My back is degenerating and has been for many years, and I have lost all disk space. I am told to walk as much as possible - not easy! Hope you find some helpful therapy.

Beautiful castle, but definitely do not want to visit in the cold months. This looks as drafty as a tent and there was no central heating in castles....brrrrrrrr. Have a day to make pleasant memories and blessings to all.

Beautiful but cold looking.

Tricky with all those different towers. Pretty to look at. It might be fun to explore. That skinny spire looks like the ones on the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. I'm surprised this isn't Spanish.
