How cute is that. Please pray for my husband, he was quite depressed before the accident because of not having any work for the last two and a half years, and the accident has pushed him over the edge. It breaks my heart seeing him sit out in the pergola looking so dejected and I don't know how to help him. Very concerned about him,

Hugs to all those lovely prayer warriors on here. God bless all of you.

The healing color is emerald, Aussie. Have him focus on that, or at least have that color around him (pillows, napkins, etc.). You can also envision a sphere of healing emerald around him to surround his entire body. Give him something constructive to do--some little thing that needs fixing, perhaps. He could also write a brief memoir about the accident. Writing helps let go of emotions surrounding events. Some magazines take first-person accounts of life-threatening challenges (Reader's Digest in the U.S., for example). The piece might even bring in some money, which will help his self-esteem. Keep reminding him how important he is to you. Believe it or not, tobacco, applied as a poultice, speeds the healing of bruises. Also vitamin B12 improves circulation, as does red cayenne pepper (if tolerated). Lots of healing prayers being sent to the both of you. Don't lose hope!

Just love him and let him know that you value him, and somewhere God has a purpose for him. God bless you both at this difficult time and bring you both peace

Lord God...I lift up to you, my sisters husband. I ask that you would lift the depression from is shoulder. help him to place his burdens before you then trust you to take care of them in your way. Please open his heart and his eyes and his mind to you. Please lead him to just the right job that you have in mind for him. Please be with "aussie" and help her to know how to give her husband just the right support. Use her as your instrument. Thank you, God that you kept your arms of protection around this family during the accident and thank you for your answers to prayer.
This I pray in your Holy and Precious name...Amen

Hi Aussie. Nothing worse than a worker w/o work! Does he have any interests that could be turned into a home business? Could he mentor? You are very creative. Could you and he co-author a book? How about a class at a local college? Maybe he can discover a hidden talent to use. Prayers right now for a way to encourage him.

Hi: My prayers go out for both of you, depression is a horrible
affliction. Have you tried getting him to a therapist? It might be a big help for him, which would ease your concerns.

I will pray for him Aussiesapphire, that God would lead him to the right job for him, and that in the meantime that he would find peace about it.

Amen to the prayers of others, as well as my own. Bokworm234 especially used the words I would have liked to think up for my prayer. God be with you both to strengthen and comfort you.

What a beautiful prayer Bokworm234. Aussie there are so many great suggestions here for you & your hubby that all I can add is just hug each other a little longer and tighter. Y'all are in my prayers

Aussie, sometimes all we can do to help one we love is to be there, usually silently, and let a light touch of the hand on a shoulder communicate our love and help. If you wait, he will turn to you for comfort. Until then, all you can do is wait - and perhaps make a suggestion to go for a short walk or out for coffee. It's hard. I've done it for my beloved husband a lot over the years.

On a practical note, if you can find a cream or lotion with Vitamin K in it, it helps with bruising. My esthetician used it after waxing. I know you get a lot of sunshine, but an additional dose of Vitamin D3 might be called for, too. It helps with depression.

My prayers are for both of you.

Aussie, we will pray for your husband, you can be sure of that. There are a lot of good suggestions here from your friends. Animals are great companions. Do y'all have a dog? Maybe a cat? When my hubby feels down (he's not depressed but he's certainly got enough serious medical issues to be) he takes our dogs for a walk. Is there anywhere he can volunteer - a youth group, a retirement home? Helping others is an excellent way to get out of one's self.

Thank you all for your lover, concern and prayers and wonderful suggestions. And Bokworm, that was a beautiful prayer. I know that God has a plan for his life and that depression is not a part of it. He saw a new doctor yesterday who has ordered a series of blood tests etc. Has to have the first one this morning. So we will go on from there. Thank you all again and may God bless you all mightily. Hugs.

Aussie, you have my prayers for your husband and yourself. I know how hard it is to watch someone you love in that condition. My husband has been down lately. He has a job, but we've had to seriously cut back to afford our health insurance. He feels like he isn't providing for me well enough. I tell him he provides so much for me that money can't buy and we will work through the rest with God's help. Hugs to you both.

Hi Karen, you have hit the nail on the head. Because he cannot get a job and has been out of work for over two and a half years, he feels he is not providing for me and I have told him exactly what you told your husband, but men seem to have a in-built thing about provision. I can only continue to love and encourage him and let God do the rest. Take care, God bless. Hugs.

Vmarie are you in financial trouble?
vmarie
Feb 2, 2015
I don't regard myself as being in financial "trouble, " pixipixil, as I acknowledge God's abundance all around me, although it doesn't necessarily take the form of money and numbers. I know my purpose, and God is my strength. Thank you for asking. Blessings!

You are right about God providing. We had less than enough money to live on when we moved to the Catskills but God always gave us what we needed in the most miraculous ways. God keep you safe, vmarie.

Hi vmarie, it is amazing how we can cope knowing that God's provision is all sufficient. We have seen it time and time again when most people couldn't survive on our income. He is great!!! God bless you. Hugs.
