Too hot for oatmeal here, we're looking at temperatures of 40-41șC this weekend. The dog days of August, you bet.

That's warm temps - stay cool Orinoco. Hugs.

We've been in the 90sF here. Yuk. I hibernate in the summertime.

We had it all yesterday: oppressive humidity, a monsoon type thunder and lightning storm and inches of rain in minutes. It is still humid today.

Just did the conversion, Orinoco, and it is running pretty close to the same here in Northern California. You are at 104 - 105 F and right now (1:30 P.M.) we are at 102 F. No matter how you say it, "Caliente" or "Hot", it isn't my favorite temperature. In Spain do they say caliente or is that just Mexico?

And I am almost shivering this morning. Have had my shower which warmed me up and need to put a cardigan or sweater on as the warmth of the shower is wearing off. We are at the point where it is cool in the morning but warms up during the day and then cools down again at night. Hugs to all of you.

NLBuchanan, here we say "hace calor" for weather and "estĂĄ caliente" for soup. Today we're looking at 40-41ÂșC. Sure wish I could visit AS. I always say if I win the Euromillion lottery I'll have a house in France and a house in Oz or NZ, and just fly from autumn to autumn, and never see summer again!! I think if I moved somewhere like the north of France it would take at least 10 years to get tired of cold, rainy weather!

Orinoco, thank you for the "real" Spanish lesson. What little I have learned has been Mexican Spanish and I have no idea how different they might be.

You're okay with verbs between the two countries. It's the nouns that can get you in trouble! ;)

Ah, but it is the verbs I have always had trouble with. Guess I'd really have problems in Spain. Don't think I'll ever make it over there anyway so it really does not matter.

The heat we are experiencing in 2017 is incredibly dangerous. Especially for older adults or those with compromised immune systems. Even though the temperatures are not as high as those that much of the USA and some of the world are experiencing, they are above average on some days. People in NY are often shortening the time they spend outside in direct sunlight. Summer is not what it was decades ago in my youth.

When it gets back into the 70s, then I'll consider hot oatmeal. Right now, we're enduring the upper 90s.

Same here in Va. Very high humidity too. It is bad for husband's COPD and asthma.

It is not good weather all around. Trynfindit, my sister also has MS and this weather is not good for her either. Asthma sufferers are struggling as well. We could use a reprieve from this heat and humidity. I do not look forward to cold weather either. I like the fall where the weather is cool, dry, and comfortable.

Dislike porridge or oatmeal.
Off to hospital to see what the Prof has to say about the skin graft.
God bless.
