At first I thought it had to do with water. Surprised when I finished it and it was a blue frog--which I have never seen.

Usually brightly colored frogs are poisonous - at least the ones from the Amazon area. Quite a few animals are brightly colored as a warning to potential predators that the animal is poisonous - but some, will kind of mimic a poisonous animal to avoid predators.

For example, the Monarch Butterfly is toxic to many animals, but the Viceroy Butterfly, which looks a lot like the Monarch are not toxic, but many predators will avoid them.

I love frogs too! I once had a dime sized frog that was lavendar and another tiny one that was mustard yellow in my backyard the same day. So much fun! But the lavendar one had jumped on my hand without me seeing it while gardening. I freaked thinking it was a slug and slung it. Then I found him. Little cutie. Of course I recused him and put him in a safe place.
