Love the bird and the blossom tree.
We had a bit of bad news today, our son has been knock off his bike, He gave us ring and Gordon has gone to pick him up, I wish some of the motorist would honour the road for cyclist as other user as they seem to go too fast and no thought for others, will let you know more when G comes home.

Prayers for your son. my fella and I ride and I have had a few accidents was hurt pretty bad some years back. If only drivers would show some respect and slow down this would reduce the amount of accidents that occur. Have lost many friends throughout the years.

Prayers coming. I know how you feel. We live on a street that is 25 mh and there are people that come down at 40 MPH. It's really scarey because we have so many little ones.

Thank you all for caring, his bike is a push bike, and he got away lucky, a lady open her door and it threw him across the road AND he broke his hand and had minor bruising he had to go back to hospital today for further test, as he his a fireman he has to have time off work will know more when we see him, so some-one was certainatly looking after him as there was no on coming traffic.
His bike was a little worse for wear but that can soon be fixed, at the moment every one seems to be on bikes, I think it is because the french people are coming over and instead of the tour de france, it is the tour of Yorkshire, hope they all enjoyed cycle-ing round here, and let us hope they bring some sunshine with them.

My son went back to hospital and the re- set is finger, but had to take is nail of and sew it back on again and apparently he slit one of his fingers and has had a lot of suffering with it, they told him it would be a long job, but apart from that he is ok.
how nice of you all to give him your blessings and a little thought goes a long way, hope you all have a smashing mothers day and get a lovely bunch of flowers. God bless every one, and I f you all lived near I would make one of my special cakes for you.XX

Santaclaus, I'm glad to hear your son is on the mend; goodness, that situation could have been SO much worse. Will pray for his continued healing and for strength and peace for all of your family.

Tell me about your special cakes. Weren't we going to meet in Skipton next time we're over there?

Yes we are going to meet you in Skipton god willing and I will bring one of my special cakes, for most of my friend they like Date and Walnut, also parking and a bozze fruit cake, but most of them and the younger end like the Rocky Road so you can take your pick.

Date and Walnut cake sounds yummy, but tell me about the Rocky Road.

The contents of the rocky road is to die for, these are the contents I use 4 Tablespoons of Flora Buttery, 3 Tbsp Golden Syrup, 400g milk chocolate, or 200g each of Milk and Dark chocolate, broken into pieces 150g chocolate chip cookies, broken into small pieces.a handful of mini marshmallows and 4 tablespoons raisins, 10 glace cherries, chopped, you will also need an 18cm square tin or dish, lightly oiled and the base and sides lined with a sheet of clingfilm, so it overlays the edges.
In a medium -sized pan, melt the flora Buttery with the golden syrup until smooth, then remove from the heat, meanwhile melt the chocolate separately in a bowl set over a pan of boiling water(or in the microwave). Add the melted chocolate and the rest of the ingredients to the mixture in the pan. Stir together. Tip the mixture into the tin and smooth down into the corners, leveling the top as too as you do so. When cool cover and chill for at least 3 hours. Remove the rocky road from the tin, remove the cling film and cut into 16 chunks.
I use cooking chocolate mixed the dark and white together no one knows any different, still taste good.
Or you could just wait till you come over.

Blue jays are pretty and blue is my favorite color but I have never really liked them. They are mean and noisy. Last spring hubby & I were in the back yard and kept hearing 2 blue jays fussing back behind the shed in the alley. So I started fussing about the blue jays fussing. Hubby who had a hoe & was working in the garden went to see what was up. Turned out it was about a 7' snake. He killed it because he wasn't sure what kind it was. If it was a rat or garden snake or a non dangerous snake he never kills a snake. So even noisy blue jays have a reason for being.

Hi globug, Oh my gosh a 7' snake would do me in. Thankful he killed it. I have a terrible fear of snakes of any kind. :(

Mar 27, 2014
Me too hockeyfan. To me a snake is a snake is a snake. But to him not so much - something about the shape of the head, coloring, certain snakes are good to have around etc, but all I hear him saying is blah blah blah

Hi globug, you made me laugh. :) Yes, I've heard snakes that aren't so called "harmful" are good to have around. But, not around me or my place. LOL
