with this view from our hotel room. It is a small lake and we walked around it every day. It is a magical place. It was Yugoslavia at that time.
--- and if the camera would just "look up" a bit you would see the Julian Alps --- stunning. My husband played golf on the only course in Yugoslavia.

And more --- a few weeks ago I had an email from my young cousin (godson, too) who was setting off from the Navy base in Spain on a three week trip around Europe with his wife and three daughters. He mentioned Croatia. I emailed back information about Lake Bled. They found it and loved it. Had a swim in the lake and sampled one of the delicacies I longingly remembered.
