I'm a big fan of waves as long as I'm nowhere near them. This is a wonderful picture. Maybe a drone took it? At first I thought it might have been an excellent painting of one. When you look at the puzzle pieces they seem to be streaks of paint.

I never thought of a drone. It didn't occur to me how the picture was taken. I just felt like I was in that wave, even though I would never be there on purpose.
Orinoco I slept until 4am which is really good for me, I'm usually up several hours before that and my brain is always up on blocks anymore lol!! Sorry you awoke so early, I know it's hard to operate when you don't get enough sleep. Try to have a good day and be safe.

Ah, we're alternating sleepless nights....mine was last night! Have a wonderful day filled with blessings!
When I first looked at this puzzle I thought it was a hat! Having had a long look at the picture I have decided that I don't like it, I cannot make out which bit is the wave, which way is land and which is going out to the sea. I think it will become a whirlpool, please enlighten me if you can.

The "tunnel" is on the land side. The wave is breaking over the top (forming the tunnel) The top of the picture, where the water seems to be standing straight up, is the seaward side. Hope that helps you see it a little more clearly. Loving the ocean as I do, I have watched many waves break on their way to shore.

I'm not shore, either. Land is to the left and ocean is from the right. A surfer in the tube would be coming straight at us riding the dark lower right portion of the curl.
Woke up at 4 AM, goodness knows why, and couldn't go back to sleep. This is not going to be a good day, my brain's up on blocks.
