I prefer swiss cheese and ham and some avocado with the lettuce and tomato. Hey have you heard of the diet club motto of Lettuce be thin club.

Pictures of food turn me off most of the time. If I haven't eaten in 5 hours or so, they are much more appealing.

I like subway too, but I get turkey & one of the white cheeses, and all veggies that have not been brined. Then I add fresh ground pepper after I get it home. Usually only 6" one on wheat bread.

Sometimes I do that, but I usually have something different the next day...Think we are going to have stuffed green peppers this evening. We usually have our main meal in the evening and a smaller lunch. I know that they say that's the wrong way, but that how it always. Lots of the time no one was home for lunch.

Supper has always been our main meal. When we buy subs we eat them at suppertime.

We have several relatives in midwestern FL. My 92 yr old uncle is in Sarasota in a retirement building. Two sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law and his two daughters and their families are all Floridians.
At Mass our priest had us offer prayers for everyone down there. I was so glad he did. So you'll be covered by that.

Too much bread....I have to watch carbs. I can eat them, but not every day and I have to watch what I put in them....salt and cholesterol....

I'm another who would love to have a munch on a sandwich like that one - but now out of the question for me. I was diagnosed as Coeliac 4mths ago - at the age of 66 - so 'ordinary bread' is completely out of the question. Gluten-Free Bread just isn't the same - more's the pity :'(.

Lilbc, what about using flatbread or pita bread, something like that?

I prefer wraps...flat bread and pita I don't care for so it's easier for me to just eat sandwiches less frequently. I can also do lettuce wrap, which isn't the same, but works.
