My sister made over 50 quarts of apple butter, apple sauce, and canned apples for apple pies. I cannot tell you how many bushels of apples my husband and I peeled for her so she could can them. My sisters and brother-in-law picked, my hubby and I peeled them, and Diane cooked and canned them. She makes the best apple butter and applesauce I have ever had. Yummy Yummy!!!!

Have a blessed and God-filled day my friends

Hello to all C4J members...it is wonderful to share our love of puzzles and apples that if one believes one a day can keep the doctor away. This is breast cancer awareness month, while having our apple, lets grab a friend and go get a mammogram this too can save a life, take it from one who is a 4 year & 7 month survivor, only a mammogram saved me, it was one of those that self-exam would have been too late. So please everyone do the smart thing and have it done, as uncomfortable as it is the alternative is worse take it from a double radical mastectomy survivor. If you are already getting yours, find someone who isn't and needs some moral support because they are afraid, as women we should all help each other!!!!! Please don't forget to warn the men in your lives as they aren't exempt either. On a happier note lets puzzle.

Mmmm - love apples! I eat one every day when I take my dog for his walk. But I have to give him the core - and he always knows when it's his turn - he's pretty smart :-D

An apple a day may not always keep the doctor away but apples do help to improve our health and make us feel better. Sadly, my sister can't say that anymore. She had her second child (unplanned) a few years ago (she's in her late 40s) and developed more health problems than she already had. Included in that, she developed a possibly fatal allergy to apples. She has to use an epi-pen now. They said she may or may not eventually get over it.

Hi KNadine:
Pectin that is used in jellies and jams may have apple in it. There are actually internet recipes for apple pecting although other fruits seem to have more of it such as citrus peels.

Thank you, I didn't know that. I will make sure she is aware. I know that some fruit juices that are made of other fruits sometimes contain apple too so she is reading labels.

They look delicious!! Do you have a favourite apple recipe? One of mine is my grandmother's recipe for Apple Crisp. Her recipe is the best apple crisp that I have ever tasted!

Love apples, all kinds, but especially the Honey Crisp and Fuji. I use Red Rome apples for a fresh apple pie with brandied raisins in it - my husband loves it!

Have a great day, all you puzzlers!

I used to make a minced meat apple pie for Thanksgiving. It's my fav but as my stomach has gotten more touchy I have had to give it up.

Enjoyed seeing the favorite ways of cooking and baking apples and the different apples you folks use. I am old enough that I have tried my hand at them too. Not always with success.
